Potluck Part II
Though the end of my expansion phase, it wasn't the end of my expansion. As I expected, there was an Egyptian revolt in the soutern city of Najran. Before long, it flipped:
The location wasn't the best, but I could live with it. At the same time, Buddhism began spreading everywhere (look at the minimap). I hadn't even build the Mahabodhi yet! I only used a few missionaries to initially convert my neighbours, after that, it was like waterworks. Notice the current religious standing. Three Hindu, Four Buddhist, One Confucian. In 620 AD, I build the Mahabodhi. The same turn, Tianjin had an Egyptian revolt. Soon after:
This is one of my favourite screenshots in the entire game:
That was pure Mahabodhi there. Once again notice the scoreboard. The next turn, Tokugawa would switch to Buddhism. The world was now permanently split. The Buddhism block to the west, then Hindu block to the east. Of course, my block was far ahead in score and numbers. Thucydides put my higher up in the Power list, at fourth. The game began to move smoothly from here. In 1130 AD, I was first to discover Liberalism, and took Astronomy with it. I began to pump out a bunch of Engineers that I saved for important wonders. The first of which was the Taj Mahal in 1412 AD. At some point, I popped one. I always miss the actual message though, I never know why.
You can see that I was producing Cavalry. I was preparing to wipe out the Hindu Block. Saladin was first, and so the war began...
